It comes from two young terraces planted five years ago in El Jardín de las Iguales, farmed with a precise, artisanal approach. Cariñena —known locally as Mazuela— is a late-ripening variety with high tannins and great structural capacity, traditionally used as a blending component. Here, it takes center stage.

Traditionally, Mazuela at Frontonio is vinified in a gentler way, as in Telescópico, where it’s destemmed and given a short maceration (4–5 days) before being blended with long-maceration Garnacha.
For this wine, we fermented selected whole clusters from the new terraces of El Jardín de las Iguales, extracting slowly and allowing time to shape its character. The result is a wine that breaks conventions and opens new possibilities for the variety.
Deep bluish-red color. Aromas of fresh red fruit, thyme, graphite, and an elegant smoky background. On the palate, it’s sharp and vibrant, with a fleshy yet noble structure. An “impossible” madness that redefines what Mazuela can be and points toward an exciting future.
